If you’re a regular golfer, hitting the green consistently with wedges from the 40m to 90m range will lower your scores.
If you’re a better player, then finishing consistently within 5m of the target will take you closer to scratch.
The big word in these sentences is CONSISTENCY. And too often we see INCONSISTENT swing techniques
when watching on the range.
In the pictures above, notice how the first image shows a three-quarter swing with the upper body having rotated
(look at the shoulder position). In the second image, the hands are in the same position but the shoulder isn’t.
Almost certainly, the ball is going to go different distances, and in the case of the second image,
the contact will be less consistent.
To become consistent in hitting the target,
you require the right technique you
repeat on every shot.
To become a better player, besides practice,
you also need to be fanatical about setup,
ball position etc.
Whatever level of golfer you are, we’d recommend that you make an
appointment for a Wedge Game Assessment.
Your performance in this area of the game has a direct impact on your scorecard.
Make sure you have the right setup, alignment, and technique.
From there, the game gets a whole lot easier.
