Dial your wedges in to distances with a good swing technique, so that from 40m to 90m,
you know you’re going to hit the green; or, if you’re a better golfer, attack the pin.
The game will become easier. Your scorecard will have lower numbers.
Make sure you know for each wedge you carry, what your distance is
with a half, three-quarter, and full swing.
Consistency is the keyword to add. Make sure your technique is good, and that you repeat the
same swing each time. Remember to use “Block Practice” to hone technique, and
“Random Practice” to prove your ability to hit the numbers.
While developing the ability to repeat the
movements that will create a consistently
controlled and measured wedge shot, you
will hit shot after shot until you are
comfortable. That’s “Block Practice”.
On the golf course, you’ll need to play
shots from random distances. So you need to have
“Random Practice” where you hit each
shot to different distance targets in the 40m
to 90m range, measuring your performance.
Here’s a good random challenge
Make your objective for next month to improve your ability in this shot range.
Get your technique assessed and improved. Hone the improvement with “Block Practice”,
before finishing each session with a “Random Distance Challenge”.
