Landing in a greenside bunker can be a bit of a lottery. Will you be plugged?
Will you be on a downslope with a difficult setup? Will you be under a lip?

If you’re looking to consistently be below 85, then you’re looking at getting up and down sometimes.
But there will be occasions where your lie should lower your aspiration. You want to get it out, and on the green,
in the general area of the target. You don’t want these lies to cause a disaster.

Escaping plugged lies is easy

This is one of the easiest of the nasty challenges
you can face. It’s a simple setup and technique
change. Watch this video and then next time
you’re down on the range, try it out.

Sometimes being a good bunker player is about knowing when to make sure you’re going to get
out of the sand, and when you’re going to try and get up and down.
Being able to handle more challenging lies is important if you want to
shoot below 85 most times. Ready to become a ‘Sand Master’.
